Slothful Thoughts

Posted by MothMan     in : , ,

  • Today was my 2nd day back at work after 2 weeks at home with Lisa and Emma. It felt odd to be leaving our home and heading back to work. In some ways it's good... back to more of a routine, back to working and bringing in the pay cheque... but I kinda miss being at home with them too.
  • Speaking of work... today involved a marathon, all-day, meeting... and our work meetings always annoy the hell out of me as they take forever (too much random chatter) and very seldom do we solve very much.
  • Emma has decided that from about 9pm to midnight or 1am is her time to be all fussy. Thank you little squirt... thanks a lot. LOL
  • My videogaming time has been cut to about 5% of what it was pre-Emma. Between helping with Emma, preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, sleep, etc... my gaming time has taken a nose dive.
  • We have been given SOOO much stuff for the baby, from many different people. From clothes, to toys, to accessories, etc... hand-me-downs and gifts are awesome. Unfortunately, that now means that we are going to have to get creative on how to store all this stuff in our apartment, as storage space is limited.
  • Emma has become THE topic of conversation in so many of my day-to-day conversations now... whether blogging, at work, with friends, family, etc.
  • Along with my game time, my time to wander around with my camera and photograph this and that has taken plummeted. I hope to be able to devote more time to it once we get worked into a bit of a better routine with Emma.
  • Being a dad is still super cool. :)

And to finish off the random drivel, a photo.

All of you will get the hang of each other soon and it'll allow for some relaxation time in between. Love the little monkey! :)

The monkey thinks you're a bit of alright too. :)

Pftt... excuses not to take photographs. Emma is right there as the subject. You should concentrate on her. ;P

lol

ya know... you're right... but what I've noticed is that at this early stage in her life... she kind of always looks the same, acts the same, does the same thing day in, day out... so there's not a lot of variety possible at the moment.

Lisa and Emma would make beautiful subjects for photography! Hands, feet, eyes, mouths...you have a whole array of beautiful subject material. Black and white photos of mom and baby would be fabulous - especially with your eye! Come on - show us a few! Routine will come soon enough. Enjoy the ride...it never becomes boring!

Alright, I've been properly shamed... lol I'll take this as a challenge to try to get more creative with my baby/family shots. =)

I actually kind of started last night, as Lisa asked me to try to get a shot of Emma's "monkey ears" (she has hairy ears, hehe). I don't have any close-up lenses, but I tried my best. I'll work on taking, and sharing, more photos in the days/weeks to come.

Thanks for commenting. :)

I don't own a macro lens. :(

It's high on my wish list.
